Tour of “Mental Habitat” at Seattle Center

My first public art piece, “Mental Habitat: Gruzzlies and Memebles” is up and on display at Seattle Center! It went up the last week in August, before Bumbershoot, an annual music festival. I’ve already been getting wonderful feedback from the public and folks who work on the Seattle Center grounds.

This Thursday, September 17th, from 4-5pm, the City of Seattle Office of Arts and Culture will be hosting a tour and artist’s reception. We’ll meet at the south Seattle Center Armory entrance near Starbucks in front of the armory “O.” The tour ends back at the Armory, where guests 21 and up can participate in Seattle’s Best Damn Happy Hour featuring a no-host bar and specials from Armory eateries.

If you can’t make it to the tour, don’t sweat. The beasts will be on display on until the end of the year. You can swing by and see them on any day on the West awnings of the Seattle Center Armory. Make sure to check out the informative plaques as well!

Once again, thank you to the Seattle Office of Arts and Cultures for funding this fun project.

I decided I needed a new example of casting plastic things in bronze. Let’s see how this goes.
